Privacy policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
This policy explains what information Nia Slides ("Nia Slides", "we", "us") collects when you use niaslides.com and our apps, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect what we need to build your presentations and run your account, and nothing for advertising.
1.Information you give us
When you create an account or use Nia Slides, you give us:
- Account details: your name, email address and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google instead of a password.
- Your content: the prompts and messages you send Nia, the storylines and slides it builds, decks and PowerPoint files you upload or edit, documents, spreadsheets and images you attach, and brand kits (colours, fonts and logos).
- Voice input: when you use the microphone, your audio is streamed to us so it can be transcribed into text. We use the audio to produce the transcript; the transcript becomes part of your content.
- Billing details: your plan, purchases and billing address. Card details are entered directly with our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
- Messages you send us, such as support requests and waitlist sign-ups.
2.Information we collect automatically
When you use the service we record:
- Usage and billing records: which AI actions you ran, which model ran them, what they cost and how many credits they used. This is what your credit balance and usage history are built from.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, and server logs of requests and errors, which we use to keep the service secure and working.
- Email engagement: links in our product and newsletter emails can go through a redirect that records the click, so we know which emails are useful.
3.Cookies and local storage
We use one cookie that is needed to keep you signed in: an httpOnly refresh-token cookie, scoped to our sign-in endpoints, that lasts up to seven days. Your browser also keeps a few preferences in local storage, such as your theme and recently used settings.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising or cross-site tracking on Nia Slides.
4.How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the service: research topics, draft storylines, build, edit, present and export your decks, and transcribe your voice.
- Run your account and billing: sign you in, meter credit usage, process payments and refunds, and send receipts.
- Communicate with you: service emails such as verification, password resets, renewal reminders and invitations, and — where you have not opted out — product news.
- Keep Nia Slides safe: prevent abuse, fraud and misuse, enforce our Terms of use, and debug problems.
- Improve the product, using aggregated usage and cost data.
5.AI processing
To build your decks, the relevant parts of your content — your prompts, messages, attached files and slide content — are sent to the AI model providers that generate text, images and transcripts, through an AI gateway. When Nia researches a topic, your search queries are sent to a web-search provider. These providers process your content to return the result you asked for.
We do not use your content to train AI models of our own, and we do not sell your content or personal information.
6.Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers that run Nia Slides on our behalf, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Microsoft Azure, which stores your uploaded files, images and exports.
- AI model providers, via an AI gateway, and a web-search provider, as described above.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Email delivery and browser push-notification services, to send the messages you receive from us.
7.What you choose to share
When you share a deck by link, invite people to a project, or publish a deck to the public gallery, the people with access can see that deck and its content, and a shared link can show a preview card when it is pasted into apps such as Slack, WhatsApp or LinkedIn. You can turn sharing off at any time; previews already cached by those apps may take a few days to disappear.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to your information.
8.How long we keep information
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information. Billing and transaction records are kept for the period accounting and tax law requires, with your personal details removed.
Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and debugging, then deleted.
9.Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are short-lived and kept out of browser storage, and the files you upload are served through signed links that expire. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects it, as the law requires.
10.Your rights and choices
You can view and update your account details in Settings, unsubscribe from product news using the link in any newsletter, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, email us; we will respond within the time the law allows, and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
11.International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one you live in. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires for those transfers.
12.Children
Nia Slides is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app before they take effect.
